Sports Project
To complete your 3 credits to go towards your Sports Band, you must complete enough activities below to earn 15 points. There is no time frame for this activity - completing all 15 points in 6 weeks or a Term, all timeframes are acceptable. Work to your own schedule to complete the points.  All work must be to a high personal standard.

Create a new sports centre for Stratford - What would it include? Draw a plan. (3)
Invent a new class game that has teamwork, fitness and fun (3)
Full body swimsuits are an advantage for competitive swimmers as they allow them to swim faster. Explain how these suits help swimmers to increase speed and list other sports that use the same principle to improve results (3 points)




Research a famous sports person in a sporting code you are interested in. Find out how they train, what made them the best

Learn a new skill e.g. shooting 3 pointers, running 100m in a faster time. Time or measure your progress over a period of time. (3)
Research a famous match/game/sporting event. Create a way to present the event s an info report to another class e.g. power-point/video, written report etc. (4)
Find someone who can do a “really cool trick” e.g. ollie on a skateboard, 360 on a scooter etc. Spend some time recording their trick, watch in slow motion and find out what makes them able to do it. Is it speed, distance, height? Present in an interesting way.(4)
Plan a school sporting event e.g. a touch tournament, or basketball round robin comp. Plan it down to every detail, umpires courts etc (4)
Investigate the science behind the perfect kick, shot or hit. Choose one and do your research! Present your findings.

Draw a simple diagram of the body’s double circulatory system. Label the heart, arteries, capillaries and veins. Explain the significance of the body’s double circulatory system in a way that can be communicated to others.

Train for and compete in the Weet-bix Triathlon.
Keep a diary of your training and progress, what sort of training do you need to do and how often. (5)
Choose 2 sports and present a PowerPoint or give a talk on the differences in body physique and how this aids their performance (5 points)
Run the event above. Reach out to your teacher for support.

Start up a lunchtime club (boot camp) and run sessions of training e.g. running, just dance etc
Run at least 5 sessions  (5)
Take up a brand new sport or physical activity. Write a review on your new sport. (5)
